Congratulations! You have probably been bitten by the infamous CCAPP CORRUPTION. Norton sends tentacles all thoughout your system and frequently can be worse than a virus.

Ultimately, you may have to try REINSTALLING the program and uninstalling it again. Learn this lesson: AVOID PETER NORTON'S JUNK LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Norton System Work is a memory hogger. By default lots of Norton programs are running in memory. Maybe that's the reason why you can't uninstall. Try this:

Click on Start %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Run

Enter "Msconfig" without the quote

Once System Configuration Utility opens up, do the following:

Click on the tap Services and uncheck anything to do with Norton and Symantec. Next, click on the tap Startup and remove Norton Anti-virus program eg Nvcpl, NvMctray.

Close Systm Confiq and reboot. Try uninstall again.

I to had real problems uninstalling Norton.

The uninstaller did not work. Add and remove programs from the control panel did not work.

Most of the advice on the Norton page did not work.

Eventually, after trying everything Norton FAQ suggested, I found something on the Norton site that I had to download and run to uninstall it for me.

I will have a hunt round and see if I can find it for you.
it happened to me too. if you can use the system restore (windows) to before installation, if not go to synmatec website and ask them about it (try the faq).
Go to windows marketplace.com,and download a free program that has the abilty to uninstall programs.Norton should come up on list.Advanced windows care, might work.
